An awful lot has changed since Slumberland Records released it’s first record in December 1989, but one thing that has remained stubbornly persistent is the label’s dedication to the ephemeral pleasures of indiepop, regardless of which way the winds of fashion blow. While the bigger names on the label might sound familiar — Stereolab, Lilys, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Black Tambourine and Veronica Falls are all part of the Slumberland family — it’s their continued dedication to elevating and amplifying the music of thrilling young unknowns that is Slumberland‘s ethos and raison d’etre.

2024 was Slumberland‘s 35th year of operation, and with twelve stellar releases might have been its most productive yet. To celebrate this substantial milestone they’re returning to their roots in Washington, DC for a two night celebration of the label, including a showcase featuring one of the oldest bands on the label (Lorelei) and two of the newest (Jeanines & Lightheaded) and the launch of the bespoke, limited edition Stop What Yr Brewing IPA in cooperation with DC-area breweries Ocelot and Bluejacket. Great live music and yummy beer? Sounds like a very Slumberland weekend!

About Stop What Yr Brewing:
Stop What Yr Brewing channels the signature “out-of-time” quality of so many Slumberland releases. In the 6.5% hazy IPA, Segal Ranch-grown High-Oil Cascade – arguably the definitive cultivar of American craft beer since the early ’70s – combines with the modern classic varietal Citra and the recently introduced Krush to produce a pleasantly disorienting swirl of new and old school hop character. Mango, guava, and peach meet grapefruit and spice. Made with oats and wheat, Stop What Yr Brewing is soft and silky while still reverberating with a briskly bitter kick.

About ChurchKey:
Built in 2009 on 14th in the heart of DC, ChurchKey has firmly established itself as the east coast epicenter for connoisseurs of craft beer. ChurchKey was conceived and created out of love and passion for beer in all its facets. With a collection of 500 hand-picked labels meticulously curated by Beverage Director/Partner Greg Engert, this ambitious undertaking is designed to celebrate the full spectrum of styles, traditions, regions and flavor possibilities. An unparalleled combination of small-batch brands, temp-controlled drafts, a deep selection of traditional glassware and a rare level of knowledge is further enhanced by the talent and wit from our kitchen.

About Ocelot:
