Nicholas Krgovich shares new Christmas album as Chris Mastheim on Bandcamp

Since 2003 Nicholas Krgovich has made four Christmas albums under the pseudonym Chris Mastheim.  These have been made spur of the moment, hip hop mix tape-style, where Krgovich sings classic christmas songs over pre-existing instrumentals and then gives it away for free on the internet.  Turning songs like R Kelly’s “Number One Hit” into “Jingle Bells” (from Chris Mastheim Is Here), Cocteau Twins’ “Smile” into “Holly Jolly Christmas” (from The Return of Christmastime) and most recently on his newest collection CHRIS MAST STYLE The Human League’s Jam & Lewis produced hit “Human” into “O Come All Ye Faithful”.  Sexy santa songs, awkwardly funky holiday cheer.  Enough to make Phil Elverum of Mount Eerie testify “I listen to Chris year round, even me, a grinchman.  Just good music.”
