Over the last year, LA-based indie musician Nate Harar has been slowly assembling a collection of low-key, introspective songs to make up his first release in 2 years. Once again recording under the moniker Dalton, this compilation of songs reveal a more stripped-down writing approach that contrasts with the usual high-energy garage rock he’s become associated with.
Dalton announces details of his brand new release, ANIMAL EP. The record follows his acclaimed self-titled debut DALTON (released February 2015 on Fierce Panda Records), which Drowned In Sound called “…something of a triumph for its creator” and NME remarked “[t]here’s a joy to his melancholy… one that draws you in and holds you close until the song’s final notes”.
Like his debut album, ANIMAL EP was written, recorded and produced wherever he found himself at the time, whether it be his bedroom in Los Angeles, a temporary studio apartment in Brooklyn or his childhood home in Alexandria, Virginia. Recorded during a time of personal uncertainty and a crumbling relationship, these 5 songs explore the illusion of stability and the clarity that comes when it all falls away.
