“The Door Behind the Door is beautifully slow burning, its grinding guitars and heavy layers of dark, feted romance akin to Spiritualized and The Jesus and Mary Chain.” -The Guardian
‘Seventh Moon’ comes from The Black Ryder’s upcoming new album The Door Behind The Door, which will be released on February 24. The album is already drawing positive comparisons in the press to notable acts such as Spiritualized, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Sigur Rós, & Slowdive.
The Guardian shared a glowing write up on the new album last week, Pitchfork recently listed the album as one of the “Records to look forward to” in the coming months. The album is also appearing on various other media’s most anticipated albums including Grimy Goods and Tuned Up. Drowned In Sound picked up opening single ‘Santaria’ for their Some Velvet Mixtape of 2014; & Louder Than War premiered ‘Seventh Moon’ in the UK noting “They sound like the greatest band that Creation never released in their golden period and their blissful tripped out indie perfection is quite magical.”
Following a string of USA/UK headline shows in March, the band will play ‘Levitation’ (Austin Psych Fest) in May alongside The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Flaming Lips, Spiritualized & Primal Scream. The Black Ryder have collaborated with members of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Church, Swervedriver and The Laurels.
“Seventh Moon” film was directed by Tim Cadiente.

What the press has said about The Black Ryder:
“The Black Ryder tends to swirl together breathy post-rock crescendos, plaintive shoegaze melodies, and psychedelic sprawl to create a greater, sprawling whole.” – Noisey
“The perfect accompaniment to slowly losing your mind (in the best possible way)…just settle in for the long, blissed-out ride.” – Rolling Stone
“The Black Ryder have been making a great psychedelic noise for past few months that has culminated in their new album which will be their breakthrough moment.” – Louder Than War
“Ethereal drone, ceremonial percussion, and dead-eyed harmonies carry on together until they build up to something sublime. There’s never really a climax because the whole thing feels like one overwhelming wave of gorgeous noise.”
